The Choice is Yours
The Choice is Yours (TCY) is a diversion program for first-time, non-violent felony drug sellers. TCY is helping young adults in Philadelphia rewrite their story. TCY has a remarkable 15% recidivism rate one year post-graduation — in sharp contrast to the 40 to 60% recidivism rate that you might expect for similar offenses.

Operated in partnership with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, Philadelphia Municipal Court and the Defender Association of Philadelphia includes a mix of case management supports, access to education and employment, mentoring and restorative justice. The Choice is Yours graduates move forward with clean records and a second chance.

Meet Tasheed Carr: TCY Particpant and JEVS Human Services Strictly Business Inspiration Award Winner 2019
After making what he calls “the biggest mistake of my life,” Tasheed was offered a second chance in The Choice is Yours. He graduated from TCY in August 2017 with a clean record and is now running a start-up youth mentoring, sports and apparel business.
