Apprenticeships through JEVS
Business solutions to train and develop the workforce of tomorrow.
For more than 80 years, JEVS Human Services has worked to enhance individuals’ employability, independence, and quality of life through a broad range of programs. Building on our longstanding tradition of creating innovative solutions to community needs, JEVS is advancing best practices in workforce development in the Philadelphia region, including the Registered Apprenticeship model.
Registered Apprenticeships are an evidence-based approach to talent development that fuels businesses with diverse and knowledgeable workers. Apprenticeship is a flexible training strategy that can be customized to meet the needs of every business. Apprentices can be new hires, or businesses can select current employees to join an apprenticeship program. As an apprenticeship intermediary, JEVS works collaboratively with employers to train, develop, and support their employees, leveraging federal, state and local resources available to apprentices and their employers.
Apprentices learn the skills required for a rewarding career, not just a job.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT
Through customized and intentional training of your workforce, businesses can increase staff skill level, productivity, and loyalty while reducing mistakes and turnover.
BUILDING A SKILLED WORKFORCE
Through intentional, industry recognized training and instruction, employers are able to build a highly qualified workforce specific to their needs. Training can be designed for onboarding and supporting new hires or upskilling current workers. This investment in staff can also improve employee engagement, reduce turnover, and increase loyalty. Apprenticeships can also improve problem solving ability, task flexibility, and reduce the need for supervision.
PROVEN METHOD
Businesses have been utilizing apprenticeships as a proven model for hundreds of years. While traditionally in the building trades and manufacturing, employers, workforce organizations, non-profits, community colleges, and others have begun adopting apprenticeship to other career pathways as a proven employment and training strategy.
FILLING YOUR TALENT NEEDS
By connecting to JEVS’s training and career services programs, as well as our partner network, employers can tap into a diverse, local talent pool to meet their unique hiring needs. JEVS staff works directly with an employer to customize apprenticeship training.
